When you factor in electricity, water, cleaning chemicals and labour costs, the daily average for cleaning a four-carriage train or fleet of buses runs into the hundreds of pounds. When trains and buses aren’t washed mechanically it must be done manually, which involves heavy, abrasive scrubbing which dulls and damages the paintwork in as little as six months.

Our protective coating products can reduce the need to clean trains and buses from every day down to every four days, creating enormous savings. For rail clients, we have technologies in place which allow staff to get live data so they can see when a train was last cleaned, demonstrating it as a live cost-saving exercise.

If our coating is added to a newly painted train or bus, it will never need to be repainted and will look as shiny as a new vehicle. Trains and buses without this coating will need a new paint job every 10 years.

As well as protecting the paint, our exterior protective coating also protects against graffiti. If trains and buses are tagged, it will simply wipe straight off. 2MS protective coatings also protect from the carbon staining from the pantograph and diesel staining. As with graffiti, stains just wipe off. 

Driver-only operation cameras will stay clear for a full service with our protective coatings, meaning the driver can fully rely on them.

INTERIOR PROTECTION FOR RAIL & BUS

We have formulated our 2MS protective products to be suitable for the hard internal surfaces of trains and buses, such as seat backs, railings, vestibules and toilets. It protects against stains, graffiti and reduces cleaning costs.

We have also developed an anti-bacterial formula containing Silver Oxide, which can be used on hard, internal surfaces to reduce the spread of germs on public transport.
